Aside from the G6, LG is also said to be working on a new V series phone. After the LG V10 and V20, expect to see the LG V5 try to make it big in the mid-range smartphone category. The name isn’t final yet and there’s a possibility that it will have a different name in another market. But for now, we’ll call it as the LG V5.

Posted below are images of the V5 as shared by @OnLeaks. The source somehow tells us that the phone is for real and that it’s only a matter of time before LG makes an official announcement.

We’re guessing it will be unveiled at the CES but it will make more sense if LG decides on an MWC launch. However, the consumer event in Barcelona is usually reserved for flagship phones such as the LG G6.

Looking at the leaked renders, we can tell phone is mid-range. That’s a bit confusing because V phones are supposed to be premium. The first two LG V smartphones were known within the high-end category so this V5 could be a first.

Phone appears to have a plastic body, removable curved back panel, and a fingerprint scanner. Display is said to be 5.3-inches and we’re guessing HD. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still there plus the micro-USB port.

There’s no mention of fast-charging but it could still have the tech although maybe not the latest version. When it comes to imaging, we’re expecting higher megapixels and better sensors.
