Bluetooth earbuds are a great invention, if you like to be wireless and fancy free while doing your workouts or while commuting and listening to your music. However, the question of where to put the controls, battery, etc become a problem since they’re just made of tiny ear buds, nothing more. LG has found a solution to this problem by giving you the redesigned LG Tone Pro with its 3D neckband, and at the same time, giving you the sound quality that you expect from brands like LG.
The 3D neckband is a flexible band that you put around your neck (obviously) and has all the controls that you would need to enjoy your Bluetooth-connected earbuds. You can put it under your collar if you’re wearing one, and has a body-contour fit for your collarbone and isn’t at all intrusive when using it. It also has a “magnetic house” for the earbuds so they won’t dangle and get caught on things. It might take some time to get used to the controls, but when you get the hang of it, it’s a breeze. The left side has the volume up and down, a Bluetooth/voice control/phone call button, and a microphone to take your phone calls. The right side meanwhile you have the play/pause and next track/previous track buttons. The charging port (micro USB) and the hard switch for on/off controls are inside the neckband.
In terms of sound quality, it uses the quad-layer speaker technology so you can be assured of “obust bass, crisp treble, clear voice quality and less high-frequency distortion.” It can be connected through Bluetooth 4.1 and talk time is estimated at up to 16 hours while listening to music can last you up to 11 hours. You can fully charge it in less than 2 hours and has a standby of time of 23 hours.
The LG Tone Pro will be available in black, white, red, blue, pink, and gold. It will available by May in major stores nationwide and will cost you just $69.99.
