Despite earlier rumors that LG will discontinue their G Pro line because it may be seen as redundant to the flagships released after it, it seems that the rumor mill is alive once again, saying otherwise. A Russian website (and apparently, a Chinese one too) is saying that the LG G4 Pro will still be coming out later this year, and that the specs will put the current LG G4 flagship to shame.

According to the rumors (and it is best to remember that at this point, they are still just that), the LG G4 Pro will have a metal build and will have a 5.8-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. That is a bigger screen but similar resolution to the LG G4. It will also reportedly be running on Snapdragon 820 SoC which may be significantly faster than the 808 running on the flagship. It will also supposedly have a 4GB RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage which is of course way better than the already good 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The camera seems also much higher, at 27MP for the main and 8MP for the front-facing one.

Some were saying that the G Pro line seems like it will be discontinued as it is becoming redundant. It is supposedly the bigger and better versions of the current flagship, but since the next flagship is almost always the bigger and better versions of the previous one, then, really what is the point? And also, if you were thinking about getting the LG G4, wouldn’t you want to hold out until the official announcement comes out right.

But before you cancel that LG G4 order you made, just remember that these are rumors for now, so don’t be hasty with your LG-related decisions yet.
