Would you really need a video tutorial in order to use a new wallpaper feature for a device that you don’t have yet? Well, LG thinks you actually do. They released a video on their YouTube channel to show how people will be able to utilize the Signature Wallpaper feature of the LG V20. The smartphone will be launching in South Korea this week and then will be available for pre-order in the US by October 2.
The feature is probably not the most important or exciting feature of the LG V20, but the OEM thought it was important enough to warrant its own video tutorial. If you didn’t know it yet, the Signature Wallpaper feature lets you put on your lock screen wallpaper the first character of your signature on the phone’s secondary display. The signature text is what shows up when your phone is on locked screen mode or what they call the second screen. So if you set the word “love” as your signature, then the official signature wallpaper will have the letter L in various fonts and backgrounds.
It’s not really that useful of course, but if you’re looking to really make your smartphone personal, then this is one of the ways you can do it. Aside from that, the V20 has a lot going for it already, with its 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560 display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor. It has 4GB RAM, 32/64GB internal memory, a 16MP main cam and a 5MP front facing shooter. It also holds the distinction of being the first smartphone to have Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The LG V20 will be available in the US unlocked and through carriers as well. Pre-orders are expected to start by October 2 with the prices ranging from $576-$689 for the carriers but the unlocked version doesn’t have a set price yet.
