LG has released a neat infographic which shows how they feel we use our smartphones. Rather than tell us what apps they think we use, they concentrated on the where and when of using a smartphone. We hate to say it, but they’re probably dead on.

According to LG, 77% of us use our smartphones while lying in bed with another, and 33% of us have used our devices to look busy when alone in a restaurant or bar. Only 36% of us take “selfies”, while around 60% use their device when spending time with friends and/or family. A probably inaccurate 41% of us use our mobile devices to look something up to avoid feeling dumb about a topic of discussion.

A (once gain, probably inaccurate) slim 28% of people admit to using their mobile phone on a date, while 35% of us have used a mobile device to avoid talking to someone. About half of us admit that we’d feel fine using our mobile devices in a place of worship, too. I guess sometimes, that email or Facebook post really can’t wait.

In what could be the weirdest number of the day, 75% of people say they “wouldn’t be ashamed” to use their mobile device in a public restroom. I guess all those studies about your mobile phone being the dirtiest thing you could touch may be accurate after all. The survey is a sampling of 1152 adults in the US, all 18 or over (of course).
