One of the winners in the recently announced 2016 Android Experiments is an Android app called Lens Launcher. And while launcher apps are a dime a dozen on the Google Play Store, there’s a reason why this one was recognized as a “next-level” launcher. Instead of just the usual flat trays that we’re used to, this app gives you a “Graphical Fisheye Lens” similar to what Apple Watch has done so looking for your installed apps should be more fun, if not easier.

Well, we can’t really say easier because your eyes would have to adjust to the launcher’s “presentation” of the apps and if you’re used to flat, then it will be an adjustment. But it does look prettier and more exciting so probably if you get used to it, then it will eventually become second nature to you. If you’ve ever played around with an Apple Watch, then this will look familiar as it basically uses the same concept.

It has an Equispaced Grid which will show all your apps in one page, regardless of screen size and how many apps you have. The Graphical Fisheye Lens allows you to zoom, pan, and eventually launch the app you’re looking for, all through touch gestures. You can also tweak several aspects of the Lens, including distortion, scaling, icon size, haptic feedback, etc.

You can download Lens Launcher from the Google Play Store for free. You can also see the code for the app over on Github, in case you were interested.
