How low would you be willing to go for a low-end smartphone? Well it would probably depend on what you would need such a device for (secondary device? for your kid? bridge phone?) or how much would an attractive enough price be for you. Lenovo seems to be trying to go as low-end as possible with their new Vibe A smartphone announced in Russia. It’s supposedly the successor to the A1000 which is already one of the lowest devices in terms of specs.

The Vibe A has a 4-inch 800 x 480 display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU with a Spreadtrum SC7731 SoC. It has a 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through a microSD card and has a 1700mAh battery. The main camera is a 5MP fixed focus shooter and it also has a 0.3MP fixed-focus front-facing camera. It supports dual-SIM functionality but will not have 4G LTE connection.

The size of the smartphone is at 124.5 x 64 x 10.6 mm and it weighs 132 grams. It will be available in either white or black colors. It looks like Lenovo is starting to name its low-end device with Vibe and then a letter, although they have not officially announced Vibe as a new series.

There are no price details yet, and this will probably be the deciding factor on whether or not people will actually buy a device with such specs. No word also if the device will be available in other markets.
