LEGO as a global brand is widely popular among the kids. Mention Lego and the children will immediately think of building bricks. Recently announced is a new game called the LEGO Hidden Side. It’s a new AR game that lets the player visit a haunted world back to normal. The game takes advantage of AR and combines it with the actual, physical construction. The result is an interactive play as made possible by AR. The game isn’t available yet but it’s ready to be presented to the public.
LEGO showed off this new project at the American International Toy Fair Booth where the media, buyers, and influencers are. The AR-theme game is exciting because it combines the real world and what you see behind a camera.
LEGO Hidden Side has eight haunted building sets. This AR application can bring the real world and the hidden world together. There are several challenges and interactive mysteries to solve so you will never run out of things to do.
LEGO’s Creative Play Lab Senior Vice President Tom Donaldson has this to say: “At our core we focus on tactile building, but AR presents opportunities to enhance physical LEGO play with new action and mastery elements. We’re breaking the mold of gaming-first AR play experiences to create a new type of play where the physical world actually influences the AR layer, instead of the other way around.”
