A new app update has turned up on Google Play that gives you something shiny to look at while you play your favorite music. The app is called LED Music Effect and requires root access to work. The app creates blinking LED lights with three colors while your music plays.

It looks rather like a graphic equalizer screen to me. The app supports lot of different devices and the LED blinks will color the melody of the music you are playing. The colors can change during a song for devices that have one LED RGB for a pixel such as on certain Xperia devices and others.

The app is able to run in the background and can blink during a call as well. The app has been tested to work with rooted devices including the Xperia L, Motorola G, Nexus 4, Nexus 6, and Nexus 5. It will also work with Samsung S, S3, Note 3, Note 3, and S4 mini.

Users do need to grant the SU permission for the app to work. The latest version of the app is 1.7 giving support for the Nexus 5 and fixing various crash issues. The app is an 858k download and requires Android 2.3 or higher.

  1. Well. Instead of adding new features to Google Play, why not fix the problems first. When I want to rearrange songs in a playlist, they do not stay in my order. Plus I want it louder.
