KDDI recently introduced a new addition to its 2015 Spring lineup. The Sharp AQUOS K (SHF31) is a new Android 4.4 KitKat-running smartphone that takes the form of a feature phone. By that I mean a flip phone but with the standard features you can find in a smartphone. Don’t expect much from the phone though because it only has a 3.4-inch screen with a 960 × 540 pixel resolution. The phone also boasts of touch pad support, tethering, and infrared.
The waterproof Sharp AQUOS K also features a quad core processor, 4G LTE connectivity, microSDHC card slot, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, 13 megapixel camera, one-segment-infrared, and a 1410mAh battery. As for the dimensions, the flip smartphone measures 51mm by 113mm with 16.9mm thickness.
KDDI is offering the phone with an LTE plan and an AQUOS K Start Discount of 1,000 yen. The contract can go up to four years. For those you are over 55 years old, you can avail of the “Senior Plan” for a better deal. This phone also supports KDDI’s au Smart Pass for more cool apps, convenience, and security for a premium.
The new AQUOS K will be available starting tomorrow, January 20, in most cities in Japan: Shinjuku, Tokyo, Nagoya Sakae, Osaka Umeda, and Fukuoka.
