If you’re a serious mobile gamer who spends hours everyday on your favorite game, and if you happen to be pretty good with whatever game you’re playing, then chances are, you’ve always wanted to record yourself while playing. Kamkord is one of the go-to tools of these kinds of gamers, and now, doing the recording and streaming will become easier if you’re on the Android platform, as now you can do it on your mobile devices.
This move is timely as Google has finally enabled an API in Android 5.0 Lollipop that allows users to record video of other apps that are also running on the phone, even those that don’t have Kamcord’s SDK integrated into their app. You can also even include your voice-over while playing the game so you can include commentary, instructions, or if you think you’re genuinely funny, your jokes and witty statements. Unlike other apps that continuously record, capturing all the awkward moments, you can pause and resume the recording when you’re ready to go back.
Being on Android is also a sure fire way for Kamcord to finally be able to penetrate the Chinese market. The platform is big in this emerging market, and just being available there may eventually equal the growth it has experienced in Japan and South Korea. However, they would probably need to localize it first, as this market is known for preferring those localized in their own language.
You can download Kamcord for free from the Google Play Store. However, since the API it’s using is from Android 5.0, it would only work in devices that have already been updated to Lollipop.
No need for that because I got screen recorder built-in with my Xperia Z2.
