At the E3 2015 gaming conference, Kabam announced that it was going to be releasing a new Star Wars game that will be directly connected to the build-up for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens which will hit theaters in December. The new game will be called Star Wars: Uprising, and it will be a top down isometric RPG of galactic proportions. What we have now is Kabam teasing us some more, with some behind-the-scenes work in this video.

Before this, Kabam had finally released a gameplay trailer earlier this month so that we could see what type of game we could expect from Star Wars: Uprising. The answer? Blasters, blasters, and a lot more blasters. We’re hoping that it would include some light saber action as well, but we’re still hoping on that end. See the developers’ diary video below, and the gameplay trailer after that.

The official website of Star Wars: Uprising is actually live and you can even pre-register already. We’re thinking it would be great if Uprising gets a good beta period to iron out the bugs and all that. We’re hearing that it will only be for select territories, so again, we await official news. If you pre-register, you get a storm trooper helmet among other in-game rewards when the game launches and the time for guessing stops — just pure gaming ensues.

Uprising will most likely launch before the film hits theaters, so it would be safe to assume sometime in October or November. That date is still months away, so a bit more waiting for you Star Wars fans out there.
