JuiceSSH is probably the unanimous choice of server admins who have to do remote administration of SSH-enabled servers as their Android device SSH client. There are a bevy of features within the app that other clients just don’t have. And now, the developers are getting ready for the big Android 5.0 splash, as they pretty up their app with Material Design.
There’s no real reason to live in a cave these days, and so we’re pretty sure you’ve heard about Material Design, which is Android Lollipop’s chosen aesthetic theme and feel. Just recently, Google released an updated set of guidelines and its recommended color swatches for developers to be able to follow the Material Design look.
JuiceSSH is following that look with its new version, although the developers are cautious enough to do the update via staged rollout. That means that there will be some people who might not yet see a notification for an update. But there’s a way around that, too – click on the source link below and look for the download link for the updated APK that the devs posted at Reddit.
As for issues, there are relatively few. One of those that the devs are monitoring are app crashes when using Android 4.2.1. If you are using this specific version, the developers of JuiceSSH are asking that you hold off on the update while they investigate the issue. Other than that, you can go ahead and either download the APK or check via the Google Play Store if an update has already reached you.
