Keeping your Android gadgets powered up and working wherever you might roam can be a challenge. If you are the sort that likes to be away from home for days at a time or just wants to be prepared in the event of a disaster, the Joule case promises to keep power flowing.
Joule is a portable power device designed to power everything from smartphones and tablets to power tools for use wherever you might be. It’s aimed at camping, on-site maintenance, or emergency preparedness.
The system consists of a 1000W inverter with a pair of standard outlets, a smart charger that can be fully charged in a few hours, a pair of 2.1a USB connectors, and a 12v accessory in and out port. Each Joule has 500Wh of power inside and supports expandable modules so when you need more power, you can just add another Joule module.
The project is on Indiegogo now seeking $60,000 and has raised over $12,500 so far. The early bird deal is still going now and for $600 will get you a Joule and joule case. The price is $420 after the tax credit. Shipping is expected in September 2015.

This is a crowdfunded project, and as such may not deliver what its creators initially promise. Most crowdfunding sites, like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, have policies about what happens to your money if the project fails to deliver on its goals, but choosing to back a project is inevitably a risk. Android Community’s reporting on crowdfunded projects should in no way be seen as an endorsement, unless specifically stated, and we recommend closely examining the terms and conditions to understand your individual rights as a backer before making a pledge.
