Back in 2016, Google Now was first integrated with selected JBL portable speakers. It is expected that the Google Assistant will be supported in other devices from the brand as well but nothing until this week. The past couple of years, JBL launched the Reflect Contour, Smartbase hands-free communication dock, more speakers and audio accessories, plus the UA Sport Wireless Flex headphones in collaboration with Under Armour. Today, we’re learning about the JBL Link Bar that comes with the Google Assistant. This means you can start talking to the soundbar and telling it what to do or asking endless questions.

The new JBL Link Bar now offers support for Google Assistant with voice AI. Android TV box integration is also available. This soundbar is best for voice control and media streaming as presented by the tech giant. This device is said to be revealed during the Google I/O 2018 happening this week.

JBL’s new Link Bar looks like any other ordinary soundbar with its long form factor and black speaker mesh. Since it works with Android TV, you can directly use voice control. Simply connect the sound bar to your Android TV set and you’re good to go. Just say “Hey Google” and the Link Bar will listen to and follow your commands. When not in use with a TV, you can use it like any other Google Home speaker.

The JBL Link Bar combines Android TV and the Google Home experience for the consumer. Any smart home will be smarter with this product. No word on availability and pricing yet but we’ll let you know once information is ready.
