Imgur

Imgur is one of the most useful imaging apps for mobile. This tool allows one to make GIFs easily from a Vimeo or YouTube video. To make the most of the features, a Pro subscription fee is required but good news to those who’ve been wanting to use Imgur, the company has dropped the ‘Pro’ and now the service is free for everyone. The Imgur Pro version will be no more and will simply be known as basic Imgur.

This is a nice birthday present from Imgur who is celebrating its sixth birthday. Imgur Pro was first offered during the company’s first anniversary but now it’s phasing out the subscriptions much to the delight of Imgur fans. The not so good thing is that Imgur will be ad-laden. Imgur-Pro was ad-free but of course, the company needs to earn so expect a lot of ads. That’s a small inconvenience you can handle, right?

All Imgur users will now be able to do the following: save an unlimited number of images in your account, receive multiple thumbnail options on all uploads, access complete image analytics and referrer data, manage/edit or delete any uploaded image at any time, and lastly, interact with the awesome Imgur community through commenting, voting and sharing.

Those who have upgraded or signed up for Imgur Pro the last 30 days will get a refund. You should be receiving an email from Imgur as notification. With Imgur full of ads now, I think the company will earn more from them compared to Pro subscriptions. What do you think?
