With the multiple number of gadgets that we normally have, getting a place to charge these devices can sometimes be a challenge, even when we’re in our own homes. That is why wireless charging will surely become the next big thing in technology, if we want our devices to “survive”. World-famous furniture retailer IKEA has announced they are launching a new line of products that will not just bear their iconic look, but will also have wireless charging capabilities.
This new furniture line will include bedside tables, and desk, floor, and table lamps. They will probably be adding more in the future if the demand becomes high, but for now, this is what we’re getting. They will also be selling charging pads that you can add to your already existing furniture. The table and desk lamps will have the charging spots in their bases already while the floor lamp will have a small shelf so you can place your device on it.
The IKEA furniture will be using the Qi wireless technology, which is still the most common right now and is being used by Asus, HTC, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Blackberry, and Sony devices. Samsung gadgets are also compatible, particularly the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, which has the first universally compatible embedded wireless charging technology. If your device is not compatible with Qi, IKEA will also have wireless charging covers so it can still draw power from the furniture.
The furniture with wireless charging will be available at IKEA stores in Europe and the US by April this year, while other markets will have to wait a little longer. Pricing details will follow soon.

take this to the end result… wireless pads in the floor, that charge a table leg coil, that then charges the devices left on it…. 😀
