If you’re of the opinion that most smartwatches are too plain or too “masculine” for your tastes, then you might want to take a second look at the two new Huawei Watches announced today. The two new models are appropriately called Jewel and Elegant, and Huawei claims that those are actually the first smartwatches targeted at the female population. They have the same specs as the well-received Huawei Watch, but of course prettier and more jewel-studded.
Their description is the watches are “inspired by classic, high-end wristwatch design and crafted with premium materials.” The glass is made from a two-layer Sapphire crystal that is of course scratch resistant while the body is 360L of cold-forged stainless steel. Just like the original Huawei Watch, it has a 1.4-inch full circle AMOLED display with a 400×400 screen resolution.
They are both round-faced but with separate design elements as well. The Huawei Watch Elegant has a rose-gold plated body (in keeping with the color of the moment) with a top ring design. Huawei Watch Jewel meanwhile has a 68 Swarovski Zirconia ring to encircle its face, and it’s something you probably won’t miss.
Aside from that, there aren’t any details about pricing but obviously, you can’t expect it to be cheap. They will be available in the first quarter of 2016 in the US market. No word yet when it will reach other markets.
