Top Chinese OEM Huawei has recently announced a new Mate phone. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro was formally announced in a launch event in China this week. It was unveiled together with the standard Mate 9 obviously plus the dual-curved version which is a limited edition model bearing the Porsche brand and design. The flat Huawei Mate 9 is slightly bigger than the Mate 9 Pro which has a 5.5-inch display but is definitely better with a 2K resolution.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro also features a front fingerprint sensor, 4GB or 6GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage, Kirin 960n processor, 20MP and 12MP Leica dual camera setup, 8MP selfie cam, and a 4000mAh battery. The Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are the latest premium flagship smartphones from the company. They can very well rival the Google Pixel, LG V20, Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge, and the HTC 10 when it comes to the high-end mobile market.
Price of the 4GB RAM with 64GB model is around $686 (RMB 4,699). The 6GB RAM with 128GB variant is more expensive at $773 (RMB 5,299). The Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are currently ready for purchase in China. The special limited Porsche edition will be ready by December 15 in time for the holidays.
