Top Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has just introduced a new mobile phone under the Honor brand. The Honor 5C China was recently shown off in China, ready to become the company’s latest bestseller in the budget-friendly category. The smartphone is set to be released commercially in the country but no word yet if and when it will arrive in other regions.

The Honor 5C will be available in two variants: 3G and 4G. The 3G model is $139 (CNY 899) while the 4G version will be $154 (CNY 999). Specs include a 5.2-inch Full HD screne, 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, dual SIM support, HiSilicon Kirin 650 octa-core processor (4xCortex-A53@2.0GHz + 4xCortex-A53@1.7GHz), 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion, 3G or 4G connectivity, and a fingerprint scanner.

When it comes to imaging, the phone features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens. Phone is powered by a 3000mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There’s also the standard WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, FM radio receiver, GLONASS, and Beidou. There’s no Type-C connection yet just micro USB 2.0.

This Honor 5C joins the other newly launched Honor phones namely the Honor V8 and Honor 5X, as well as, the new Huawei P9.

Huawei remains to be the third among all the smartphone vendors world followed by OPPO and Vivo. Apple and Samsung are still the top two global phone makers.
