Aside from the Honor 6X, Huawei has also introduced the Honor Pad 2 and Honor Watch S1. The Honor Pad 2 is a new tablet that comes with an 8-inch screen with Full HD display, running Android Marshmallow and EMUI. Tablet is available in either WiFi or WiFi+4G model. We’re guessing the Honor Pad was designed with Huawei looking at the Honor Pad Note and MediaPad for inspiration. Well, you would only think the Honor Pad 2 is bigger and more powerful than previous tablets from the company but this one now promises better and faster performance with a new processor.
The Honor brand’s new tablet comes equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor from Qualcomm. The 8MP rear camera is already high enough for a tablet and the single LED flash and f/2.0 aperture allow for better quality images. You can choose from either the WiFi or 4G version. The latter also includes voice calling over mobile Internet connection (VoLTE) just like the new Honor 6X.
Other specs and features of the Honor Pad 2 include 1920 × 1200 pixel resolution, 16:10 IPS display, Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB onboard storage, microSD slot, 2MP front-facing camera, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, and a 4800mAh battery. Available in Gold or White variant for only 999 yuan ($148) for the 3GB RAM and 16GB WiFi version. The 32GB model is 1299 yuan ($192) while the 4G version with the same RAM and storage capacity is 1499 yuan ($222).
Huawei has also launched the Honor Watch S1. It’s a new smartwatch that we’re also guessing is after the Huawei Watch. The Honor Watch S1 is a round watch but it’s more of a fitness wearable device with its heart rate monitor and water-resistance capability so you can wear it while in the gym or in the pool. As a smartwatch, it can display notifications for messages, calls, and reminders when connected to a phone.
Features and specs of the Honor Watch S1 include a 1.04-inch black/white touchscreen LCD display, 208 × 208 pixel resolution, 6-axis sensor, heart rate sensor, ambient light sensor, Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, and an 80mAh battery which can last up to six days. The watch is waterproof and dustproof already. You can select the interchangeable the straps that are available in Blue, Black, and Orange. Price tag reads 699 yuan which is about $103 in the US.
You can pre-order for both the Honor Watch S1 and Honor Pad 2 starting today in China. Items will be available beginning October 25.
