When the HTC Triumph came into our radar the first time, it was because it had appeared in an internal TELUS inventory screen. Well, now it’s getting a little bit more interesting, as a tipster has sent Mobile Syrup the first screen shot of the device. And, as some had suggested, the Triumph is indeed a rebranded version of HTC’s Desire.

The HTC Triumph will feature Android 2.1, HTC’s Sense User Interface (UI), 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, and the 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood. It’s supposedly coming out at some point between July and August, with the rumors leaning the release some time more in July, rather than August. It features WiFi, GPS, and a 5MP camera on the back that comes with auto-focus and flash.

Yes, it’s the HTC Desire, but that’s not a bad thing at all. And it’s a very strong addition to TELUS’ Android line-up, with the HTC Hero, Motorola Milestone and Backflip, waiting patiently to be put out to pasture with the thoroughbred’s release. There’s no price point quite yet, but if it’s launching in July, it won’t be long at all.
