The HTC One M9 may already be getting good reviews and if you like a little art in your devices, you might give this one a go as well. The OEM is teaming up with a supermodel and a tattoo artist to be part of the bespoke collection. Calling it HTC Ink, they will be etching onto the back of their new flagship the design that their collaborators have come up with. This is just the first in a series of limited edition smartphones that they will be releasing as part of the collection.

For the HTC One M8 last year, they commissioned PHUNK studios to come up with the PHUNK edition, which featured etchings at the back of the phone’s metal casing. This time around, for the first of their INK limited edition devices, they worked with supermodel Jourdan Dunn and tattoo artist Cally Jo Pothecary to create a tattoo-like design, which they will probably etch into the back again. SlashGear did a rendering of what they think the design would look like on the HTC One M9, and if that’s any indication, it looks pretty cool.

When asked what the design symbolizes, Jordan said that it was a representation of the exciting things that will be coming up for her, combining it with her “positive approach to life”. She appreciates the positive energy that has sprung from this design, with the open hand and the eye symbolism heralding a “more creative chapter” in her career and personal life as well.

The HTC One M9 INK edition will be available for sale later this year. No pricing details have been released yet, but of course expect that it will be a little more expensive than the plain ole one. They will also be releasing temporary metallic body art transfers based on the design, but again, no details yet as to when and how and where this will happen.
