Yes you read that title right, what we are hearing this evening is HTC is preparing to launch a HTC Sensation 2 SE or special edition with Beats Audio by Dr. Dre. First off I’m going to throw this instantly in the rumor mill for a few reasons. First being the Sensation hasn’t been out long enough to replace it, second being why call it special edition if all future HTC handsets are going to have the Beats Audio technology inside, just a thought.
This could be completely accurate, and might just be blowing smoke but over at CNET they apparently have all the details. What we can “expect” to see is a HTC Sensation 2 SE that will feature an upgraded 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor like what the HTC Jetstream will be powered by. That is faster than the original Sensation and its 1.2 Ghz CPU. It will feature the same 4.3″ qHD display but the leaked document says “advanced HD screen” which also makes it sound like someone is confused.
If the rumors are true we will be seeing the same 8MP camera on the rear, a slightly thicker design because they’ve also boosted the battery going from 1,520mAH to a more respectable 1,730mAh. It will be bundled with a nice set of Beats Audio headphones and may even have a Beats Audio logo on the rear or during the boot animation. While this all sounds nice I just don’t see the point, although it might get the Beats and HTC name out there together as one.
These details are just leaking so take it how you want. If we hear more we will be sure to report back. What do you guys think is this real, or just some rumor?

Wow, I hate how my Sensation is already going to be obsolete, and I’ve had it for only 3 weeks….lame, HTC, lame!

lol agreed. I still love my sensation and I’m patiently waiting for CM7. This device is still just a rumor IMO
LOL what a fail. First off, it will be hilarious if it has any sort of Beats Audio logo on it, because I’m not sure if you guys caught this but it will not have onboard Beats Audio tech (check the details sheet-it’s clear that the “Beats Audio” part of this special edition is just the headphones that come with it). Quite frankly whoever wrote this article should have noted that. It’s pathetic that they’re calling it a Beats Audio special edition or putting a Beats logo on it just because they’re pairing it with Beats headphones (you ever seen Beats labeled laptops? they actually come with onboard Beats audio, not just some Beats headphones).
The processor isn’t any sort of huge advantage because it’s the same processor as the standard Sensation, but this time it simply isn’t underclocked as the standard Sensation’s chip is. Just like the “special” audio, I can match the processor advantage on my standard Sensation once true dual-core support comes out over on XDA and I’ll overclock it to 1.5 Ghz. So the processor doesn’t make this special edition special.
Battery? Same deal. Anker and Chichitec already have highly rated 1900mAh batteries out, AND they fit under the standard battery cover. I’d much rather take a 1900mAh battery and the svelte shape of the standard Sensation over a 1730mAh battery and an ugly thicker design.
The only advantage it truly has is the 4GB internal storage bump (which whoever wrote this article failed to mention). Otherwise, like I’ve pointed out, I can match all those other supposed advantages by buying accessories and overclocking my standard Sensation.
Right on

The only ‘feature’ I see missing here (as long as the rest are good and working is NFC.
The camera on the original Sensation (which is actually over 5 months old now) wasn’t as good as the Samsung Galaxy SII and also screen too, but still extremely good.
I personally only held off upgrading because it was obviously not as good as the Samsung SII (though far better build quality) and took far too long to officially come out, which when I attended the London opening, I kind of felt, this isn’t that new and wanted to see something a little more, especially as I would be buying it off-line… £££! HTC obviously felt the same and updated the features as they should have been as soon as they could… just hope the two factors I’ve said are improved… shame about no NFC though []-_-]
