At the end of April, we told you about this new limited edition smartphone that HTC is coming up for their new flagship, the One M9, which is part of their bespoke collection. This time it was a collaboration between British artist tattooist Cally Jo Pothecary and supermodel Jourdan Dunn for an etching into the back of their brand new smartphone. Now, HTC has announced they are officially opening pre-orders, or rather, pre pre-orders for the special device.
Jourdan previously said that the design that she and Cally Jo came up with represents the exciting things that will be happening in her life and combining it with the “positive energy” that she needs to be able to go through all these new chapters and doors opening for her. HTC now conducted an interview with Cally Jo, where she shared that partnering with HTC makes sense because she uses technology to further her craft, and now she has the chance to create awareness about body art and to use digital means to do so.
The Ink model carries with it the same features and quality that the original HTC One M9 has, including the raised screen bezels, an improved and customizable Sense UI, improved BlinkFeed which now functions as a social stream, and a pretty impressive 20MP camera which can also capture 4k videos (although the phone’s 1080 resolution doesn’t support 4K yet).
There are no details yet as to the pricing and availability of the HTC One M9 Ink devices. But if you’re interested in getting one, you can register your interest on their website. You can also see behind the scenes interviews with the collaborators, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
