Seemingly out of nowhere, T-Mobile has gone ahead and made the myTouch 3G Slide available for purchase. And in classic myTouch fashion, you have a choice between some color options. As we showed you in our official review of the new Android-based handset, you can have a black one if you like. Or, you can choose a red or white version. All of them have that same attractive, plastic shiny approach, so you’ll just have to go by your favorite color.
The myTouch 3G Slide features a 3.4-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, Android 2.1, GPS, access to T-Mobile’s fast 3G network, as well as WiFi b/g. You also get access to a MicroSD card slot. You get headphones, the A/C wall charger, a USB cable, and the phone itself in the box, as well as the traditional paperwork. We enjoyed the device, especially the hardware keyboard (even if it had its own problems), but we’ll go ahead and say that $179.99 with a new, two-year contract is too pricey for the device. However, if you can spend the money and you’re in the market for a new Android-based handset with a hardware keyboard, the Slide is definitely one to look at.
