As with the previous two smartphones in HTC’s Butterfly product line, rumors are pointing to a device primarily targeted towards Asian markets. We haven’t heard much in the way of specs for this upcoming device. But that was before it was tagged via a Compubench benchmark test. Now we have a good idea of what the device will look like on the inside.
First up, the HTC Butterfly 3 will be sporting a 5.2-inch QuadHD screen. The benchmark says 5.1 inches, but it will probably round off to there or thereabouts. The QuadHD screen will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 810, overheating issues aside. We have 3GB of RAM and probably around 32GB of internal storage.
The camera combo is delicious – you get a 19MP rear shooter and a 12MP front camera, not your usual combo. All of that will be running on a version of Android Lollipop – for the benchmark, it was Android 5.0.2. No word on the external design yet – both Butterfly devices so far have been made of plastic, so we wait what HTC has for us this time around.
Lastly, no word yet on the pricing as well. Judging from the specs and depending on the external design, the phone could drop in the upper mid-tier mix. It will surely not be a laggy phone, that’s for sure.
