The rumored HTC Bolt images surfaced yesterday and we were interested in the fact that it doesn’t have any headphone jack. It seems that OEMs are moving in that direction after Apple launched the iPhone 7. Sure, it’s not the first ever to make such move but the Cupertino made the idea more popular. After the LeEco and the Moto Z, the HTC Bolt may be the next smartphone ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Nothing is certain yet but the phone was recently on the FCC which means it’s about to be announced in the US. Features listed on the document include a 5.5-inch screen, 1080 x 1920 resolution, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor by Qualcomm, Adreno 430 GPU, front fingerpint scanner, 18MP main camera, 8MP selfie camera, and a USB Type-C port. There’s no mention of the battery size but the phone will arrive with Android 7.0 Nougat at launch.
The HTC Bolt could be the HTC Thunderbolt follow-up we mentioned before that was already in the works. It’s an old series but we’re guessing HTC is about to make some changes. We’ll see if this model number 2PYB200 aka the HTC Acadia will really be the new HTC Bolt offering.
Before the official launch happens, we’re expecting more leaks and rumors to be published so we’ll see.
