Hot Games for Xperia PLAY Launch Rundown

We were reeling when we saw the big fat list of Xperia PLAY optimized games that CNET Asia had prepared a couple of days ago. We were so excited, in fact, that our initial browsing of said list yielded only one overwhelming notion: there aren’t that many new things here. How heart-wrenching! Then we got wise. There are some gems in there, starting with the second in a series of Dungeon Defenders.

Take a peek here at a gameplay video of this “Second Wave” version of Dungeon Defenders, and have a freakout party when you see how smooth and excellent it appears to be:

Next have a look at Bruce Lee, a game which, if you’ve never seen it before, has movements based on an official Bruce Lee student’s digitally mapped body whilst fighting. Neato:

Then there’s Star Battalion, a game not unlike StarFox 64 (aka the greatest strarfighter game ever created) that’ll make full use of your controls (allowing you to use either sets of pads), and will allow you to play multiplayer over Wifi.

For racing there’s Asphault 6: Adrenaline, an HD graphics game that’ll also allow you to play multiplayer, this one with tracks all around the world, “from LA to Tokyo” – hot speed!

Finally, there’s Splinter Cell Conviction – an amazing first-person shooter game you may already be familiar with if you’ve been following the Splinter Cell series on other platforms. This final video shows off Splinter Cell as well as 9 other games from Gameloft:
