If you played the well-reviewed roguelike game Heroes of Loot previously, then you probably would welcome the news that a sequel is now available. Called, of course, Heroes of Loot 2, the game still has its usual cast of characters like wizards and heroes and monsters, that go traipsing through dungeons and castles. But this time around, you get to bring two heroes with you on your adventure, using their special skills to solve the quests and the puzzles that come along the way.
The game still has some of the elements that made it a favorite among roguelike game enthusiasts: retro graphics, randomly-generated levels, and of course that pesky but exciting perma-death. You will still be able to unlock new abilities for your future runs, but if you die, you’re dead forever and have to start all over again. What’s new with this game is that you get to bring and play two characters (a ranged one and a melee) and you can switch between the two, depending on your current situation.
The quests this time around range from simple ones (find a key) to the more complicated ones (light all the magic candles and open the gates). Which character you’ll use for each quest and task depends on what you’re supposed to do, and that is the challenge for you. You can choose from among the Elf, the Wizard, the Warrior, and the Valkyrie. When they level up, you will be able to increase their firepower and abilities, and this includes rare loot and magic spells.
Until June 11, you can get a launch discount on Heroes of Loot 2. You can download it from the Google Play Store for $2.49, and there are no more in-app purchases needed.
