There’s just too many things we have yet to learn about the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Despite some issues we’ve been hearing, the two new Nexus phones are still part of the ‘in demand’ list. Android geeks are still discovering or trying to figure out some stuff and thanks to the cool members of the XDA community or Reddit for sharing things that are always helpful.
Posted on Reddit earlier are instructions on how to enable EIS, short for Electronic image stabilization). These steps are only for rooted devices so please take note if you want to make some changes on your smartphone.
To enable electronic image stabilization, follow these steps:
1. Edit the build.prop file.
2. Add this one line (you may copy and paste): persist.camera.eis.enable=1
3. Reboot mobile device.
4. Go to Camera settings then select Resolution & Quality
5. Choose and check “Enable video stabilization”
A certain Redditor known as cthuluhoop123 discovered how to bring the higher-end Nexus 6P’s image stabilization onto the Nexus 5X. There in the camera settings, you will find how to enable the option. It’s that simple.
There under the Settings, you will also see other information including how many megapixels both cameras have, resolution of the back camera and front camera videos, and the level of Photo sphere and panorama.
