Looks like it won’t be just Huawei partnering with another big name in the camera industry. Motorola is believed to be working with pro grade camera company Hasselblad to come up with a special Moto Mod camera for the new Moto Z. We’ve seen Motorola’s latest flagship phone which is actually impressive with the Moto Mod add-ons. A Moto Mod is similar to the LG G5 Friends.
This time, Motorola and Lenovo may have tapped Hasselblad to make an accessory for them.
Nothing is certain yet but an invitation to a tech event shows hints of some sort of black sensors and metallic buttons. It could be a camera mod from Hasselblad which looks premium in brushed metal finish. It’s just a speculation and we’re still waiting for a formal announcement from either Motorola or Hasselblad or even from Lenovo. For all we know, this could also be a stand-alone camera.

It was master leakster Evan Blass who shared the teaser image that shows a shutter button, flash, and a huge lens system. We’re guessing it can handle optical zoom and can be used pretty much just like an ordinary handheld camera. Interestingly, there’s a Hasselblad event that will be held on June 22 so the Moto Mod could be revealed there. We’ll see then if the 50MP sensor and viewfinder of the mirrorless camera (or Moto Mod) rumors are true.
