There is a very real market for people who want more real estate (screen size, that is) on their smartphone displays – this is why big manufacturers like Samsung (with the Galaxy Note series) and LG (with the G Pro series) hit this niche every year. Heck, even Apple finally admitted with the iPhone 6 Plus that this was a real market. Today we see Lenovo giving some more options in the phablet niche with the launch of the Lenovo PHAB and Lenovo PHAB Plus.
The names of the products alone will give you all the hints you need that these devices will have larger-than-normal screens. The Lenovo PHAB Plus, the more “high end” of the pair, sports a ginormous 6.8-inch Full HD (1080p), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, backstopped by 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
The curious thing about this Lenovo pair is that the one with the “PLUS” suffix is not necessarily the larger one. The Lenovo PHAB is the larger of the two, sporting a 6.98-inch display which is sadly only rated at 720p. There might be people who will take issue with that. It will be powered by a yet undisclosed Qualcomm processor, 1GB RAM and a monster 4250mAh battery to power that big screen.
The more premium Lenovo PHAB Plus will be priced at USD$299 and should be available by the time the holiday shopping rush rolls in by end of year. Unfortunately for the US market, Lenovo did not say of this monster pair will make it to North American shores. You can check out more pictures of the initial hands on below, and at the source link.
