Translating something from English to a language that also uses the same characters is a whole lot easier than into something that uses a totally different visual language, like Chinese, Japanese, etc. Our lives have been made more convenient and more interesting when Google Translate came into being, particularly when not just text input, but conversation mode and visual translation came about as well. For Arabic speaking/reading users who will be traveling to English and German speaking (and writing) countries, the new update is something you might be needing.
The Google Translate app can now allow you to use instant visual translation from English and/or German to Arabic. The best part is that you don’t even need to have Internet connection or cell phone data. All you have to do is download a small language pack to your Google Translate app, which is just around 2MB. Once you’ve installed it, just open the app, click on the camera and point it at the text or sign the you need to translate. You’ll see the text transform to Arabic in real-time on your screen, just like magic (or rather, Google magic).
Previously, the translation from English or German to Arabic has already been available in Google Translate, but only in the text input and conversation mode. This time around, you’ll get to enjoy the visual translation, which might make it easier for you to go around an unfamiliar city, read and understand restaurant menus, read documents, maybe even pick up a book.
Just make sure you download the language pack onto your Google Translate app for Android to start using this feature.
