We may not fully understand what Google’s plans for its social network are, but based on changes in the past few moths, we’re seeing a conscious move to move away the other Google products from it. The latest news is that some have reported that in order to publish a review on the Google Play Store, you don’t need to sign in anymore to your Google+ account. This comes after reports that the +1 button has also been removed from the Google Play Store as well.

It may very well something that Google is just testing out since there has been no official announcement yet. But the fact that these two are happening almost at the same time may very well point to it becoming a permanent thing, especially since people seem pretty happy about it, based on the early response. Google+ may have found its niche with some users, but it still hasn’t gotten the mainstream acceptance that it wants to have.

Users were saying that when they removed the +1 button on the Google Play Store, posting reviews of the apps and games were much easier. And those that didn’t have any Google+ accounts were still able to post their reviews without the Play Store asking them to sign in to the social network.

Last year, Google+ became disconnected from the YouTube comments. Earlier this year, it removed the Google+ requirements in the Play Games and instead let people add Gamer IDs when they signed in. So we can actually see where Google is heading with this. What we can’t see is whether or not they will continue with their social network or if they’ll turn it into something else.
