Online music streaming services have been a blessing for those who love music, obviously. It’s been a big help for those stuck in the same musical stylings and would like to discover new artists to expand their horizons. It’s also been a boon for those who love music and yet are too lazy to create their own playlist. Google Play Music has been one of those that has been helping music lovers everywhere groove to their own jam, and now they’re offering a free, ad-supported service for those living in Canada.
Google says they have a crack team of experts who are busy creating various playlists to help people find “the right music at just the right moment.” You don’t have to spend hours thinking of the perfect songs to add to your “I’ve got to get through this Monday” playlist or the “I hate exercising but I know I have to run 5k today” kind of mood music. The curated stations can be browsed by mood, genre, decade, or type of activity. And if you want to create a station based on your favorite artists, album, or song, you can do so as well.
We previously told you about Songza being fully integrated into Google Play Music and officially shutting down by next year. Well, they were waiting for Canada to have this integration before formally announcing the demise, or rather, reincarnation of the music service that was bought by Google a year ago. Another thing that Canadian Play Music users can look forward to is the addition of podcasts to their offerings. This will be coming really soon, and even local podcasters will be able to add their content as well on the Google podcast portal.
So if you have not subscribed yet to Google Play Music (which is $9.99 a month and ad-free) and you live in Canada, download the app from the Google Play Store and enjoy free ad-supported streaming music.
