LG Smart TVs will soon gain access to Google Play Movies & TV. This feature will be ready in over 100 countries where such smart TVs are available. If your TV runs the webOS Smart TV platform or NetCast 4.0/4.5, you can run the Google Play Movies & TV app on your smart television and enjoy hundreds of TV shows and movies.
The South Korean tech giant aims to bring the best possible viewing experience with the webOS platform. LG Electronics’ Senior VP and head of the TV and monitor division In-kyu Lee noted how the “smart TV market is growing rapidly” and that there is a demand for newer and higher-quality content.
In-kyu Lee proudly said:
“Meeting this demand is LG’s highest priority, matched only by our desire to provide the best possible viewing experience on our TV products with the webOS platform. Our close partnership with Google will go a long way toward fulfilling the high expectations of LG Smart TV owners.”
As with any other entertainment apps available for desktop or mobile, you can rent or buy shows or movies and stream them straight to your TV. You can also continue where you’ve left off on other devices. This service will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia at first. A total of 104 countries will receive access to Google Play Movies & TV soon according to LG.
