Whether you celebrate it or not, whether you had a date or stayed home alone, Google Play Store still has a Valentine’s gift for you. Well, if you live in the US, that is, but hopefully some other places as well. If you redeem a special code in your account, you’ll get a dollar that you can use when you’re buying an app or an in-app purchase. Unfortunately, you can’t use it for movies or music or books, just for those apps and games you might want to get.
Getting this $1 gift is pretty easy. Go to your Google Play Store, tap on the hamburger menu and then look for Redeem which can be found towards the bottom. Once you tap on it, you’ll have to type in this code: VALENTINE2019. If you want it to be easier, you can just head on over to this link and type or copy paste the same code. However, if you’re outside the US, you’ll get a notification that the code is not applicable to your country.
If you’re in the US and the code is working, then you’ll get that special $1 to use for apps or in-app purchases. For example, a $3 app can then be purchased for that $1 that you have. You only have until before February 28 to use this or else the code will be gone. And as we said earlier, you can’t use it for other Google Play media like books or movies or music.
If you live outside the US, you can try adding your country’s code at the end and see if it will work. For example, if you’re in the UK, you can try VALENTINE2019GB or something. We’re not sure if it will work all the time, but hey, you can give it a shot. Happy post Valentine’s Day from Google!
