Aside from being the first phone that Google can really call its own, one other thing that stands out about the newly-released Pixel smartphone is that the tech giant seems to be pouring so much effort into marketing it. From billboards to pop-up stores to large installations, they are really pulling out all the stops to let people know that the Pixel has arrived and that it is awesome (at least, a lot of reviews think so). Now for their latest promotional videos, they’ve asked 3 of the most popular YouTube stars to show off some of the selling points of the new smartphone.
Todrick Hall is known for his unique fashion sense, and so on a search for the perfect suit to wear on a night out of town, he enlisted the help of the Google Assistant, which of course you can find built-in with Pixel. While of course you can find Google Assistant with other Android phones too, there might be a few easter eggs or special things you can only do with Google’s own phone.
Fashion and beauty vlogger Alisha Marie takes her friends to a weekend of glamping, and of course, the main character in this video is the Google Pixel camera. She shows off such features like the 12MP camera, the double twist to take a selfie feature, the ability to record in 4K, video stabilization, panorama, anti blur, etc. For those who take a lot of photos and videos, the Pixel seems to cater to that crowd as well.
Last but not the least, Connor Franta wants his loved ones to meet his new friends. And that’s a lot of new friends. Well, they’re actually really adorable puppies, so everyone seems happy about it. He’s showing off the video calling capabilities of the Pixel, specifically its video calling app Duo. One feature is called “Knock Knock” and it lets the receiver of the call get a preview of what’s going on before they actually pick up.
