Don’t get your hopes up as there’s no new Chromecast yet. Google knows its current digital media player is still doing great in the market. It’s almost two years old and yet support for the service is only expanding rapidly the past few months. The only disadvantage we see is that it only works over WiFi. Not that it’s big problem but there is the reality of getting a poor WiFi connection at times. To solve this, Google has introduced a new adapter with built-in Ethernet port.

This new Chromecast adapter lets you connect to a wired connection for a more stable Internet. It can be faster to stream content to your TV or display via Ethernet because it’s direct. Just make sure the Ethernet port is somewhere near the TV.

An adapter is not really required if you already have fast WiFi but your Chromecast still uses the wireless bandwidth. If you connect via the Ethernet instead of WiFi, that will be minus one device hogging up the wireless network connection. It makes sense actually and for only $15, it’s very affordable.

Google just launched the Chromecast Ethernet Adapter yesterday but it’s sold out already. No information when Google will make the next batch available but you can get Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast from Google’s Online Store. Check the page regularly, you might catch the ‘Available’ sign in the coming days.
