Always happens to me – both my wife and I know that we need to buy something, and we both buy that thing, and when we get home we find ourselves with either two boxes of milk, or two packages of the same bath soap. Well, I think Google Keep‘s new feature is a godsend in that regard – in that it allows you to create lists and then share them with other people so that you can see which ones on the list have been ticked off.
Honestly though, we’ve been waiting for something like this natively in Android or from Google for a while now. And we’ve had to use separate third party apps just to do some of these tasks. But Google Keep is taking the sticky-notes-on-the-ref idea and bringing it to all Android devices version 4.0 or better.
Google Keep will become the “fridge” where users will create and “stick on” their lists, share it with other people in the family and see the list items getting ticked off in real time. There’s also a better searching process for notes that you might have done before – you can even filter notes by color if you want. You can also search by other attributes such as whether the note was a shared one, or if it had a reminder, or an image or audio.
This is all pretty neat stuff, but best of all, it’s a free download via the Google Play Store. For existing users, the new share function is rolling out today and you should get a notification to do the update soon.
