It’s Wednesday, so you know that one or two (or all!) of your Google products will probably receive an update today. This week, among the new goodies that they’ve given us is some enhanced features for Google Drive and Google Docs. Working from your Android mobile device is a reality that a lot of us are living with now, and we often need functions that are just available for desktop versions. But the newest update has brought these to these work-related apps.
Google Docs on mobile can now let you view and act on suggestions or edits that you receive from your collaborators (who have been granted “can comment” access) on a document that that you’re working on. This has been a feature on the main app, but now you can choose to either accept, reject, or comment back on these suggestions through the convenience of your smartphone or tablet. For Sheets, you can now move, resize and delete charts and for Slides, you can reorder objects (bringing them front or back), all on your mobile device.
Google Drive has also received several updates, and one of them is that you’ll be able to easily share your most recently uploaded files, directly from the notification you received that the upload has finished. Of course, the usual suspects for sharing (email, social networks, messages) are there. 23 new languages have also been added to Drive, including Armenian, Basque, Chinese (Hong Kong), French (Canada), Georgian, Khmer, Malayalam, etc.
Don’t worry if you don’t see yet these updates in your Google Drive and Google Docs. While the updates are already announced, it takes a couple of days for them to actually roll them out.
