Google is bringing two products together: Fiber TV and Google Cast–the tech giant’s very own cable TV service and the media device that allows streaming of videos, music, or games. With Google Cast now on Fiber TV, more people will be able to enjoy the thousand of Android apps and games you can find on the Play Store. Your smart TV isn’t just for watching your favorite shows on your favorite channel. You can also use it for streaming videos from YouTube and other similar services for on demand content.
There are thousands of movies, shows, and music you can access from different media libraries all over the world. This Google Cast service won’t need a Chromecast. The company has decided to add the technology to the Fiber TV Box so you can immediately access new apps and content. This brings the “on demand” factor right out of the box–literally the Fiber TV Box.
No need to download or attach a media streaming console because the Google Cast feature allows quick and seamless access to TV, entertainment, mobile apps, and the Internet. Feel free to browse through Google Photos, channels on YouTube, more cat videos, or play Just Dance on TV with your smartphone as the controller. The magic of Chromecast is brought to the Fiber TV now so need to setup a special product or plug an accessory.
Google Cast will be released for all Fiber TV subsribers. Rollout may happen slowly but rest assured you will receive the update that will allow more movie screenings or game nights with your family and friends at home.
