While most people would probably say that playing golf on your mobile device can be as boring as playing it in real life, those who are really into the sport but don’t have time to play in an actual course might beg to disagree. And those who like golf probably have the Golf Star game on their smartphone or tablet. The popular app is celebrating its 3rd anniversary and as part of that treat, the latest update brings a new course and some additional modes that should make your gameplay more interesting.
The new Match Play Mode makes the game a little more challenging by competing with other players instead of just playing with yourself in the Stroke Play Mode (okay, it’s not as dirty as it sounds, believe us). In this new mode, the one who has the lowest score will win the hole, and at the end of the match, of course those with the most holes won will win the game.
The other new mode is the Skins Game Mode (again, not as sleazy) but this time, you have to pay an entrance fee to be able to play the game, which is held at the PGA course. But you’ll be able to buy back this entrance fee, depending on how you rank in the match. And here, the one with the lowest score of course wins the game.
The update also brings a new Safari-themed course as well as new Safari explorer costumes and Bridgestone equipment you can purchase at the shop. You can update Golf Star now to enjoy these new features, or if you haven’t gotten it yet, download it from the Google Play Store for free but with in-app purchases available.
