With the recent announcement of an all-female reboot of the Ghostbusters movie, nostalgia for the franchise is at an all-time high. Interest in our favorite proton-pack wielding warriors has been reignited for both those who were old enough at the time of its popularity and for a new generation of viewers as well. Halfbrick Studios knows how to ride the bandwagon as the latest Monster Dash update now has a Ghostbusters Pack.
Peter Venkman (played by Bill Murray in the movies) is one of the most iconic people to come out of the franchise and is now a playable character in Monster Dash, together with his trusty Proton Pack to capture Slimer, another fan favorite (despite being a yucky ghost) and the rooftop scene in New York City, a classic moment from the original movie. Your mission as Dr. Venkman (not a medical doctor, but he does have a PhD in parasychology, psychology, etc) is to save the city from “a disaster of biblical proportions” by capturing ghosts, since you are, after all, a Ghostbuster.
Aside from the Ghostbusters Pack, the recent update to the Barry Steakfries Trilogy (Jetpack Joyride, Age of Zombies) has also brought a tighter game loop, even better weapons upgrades, plus daily events you can participate in to win more points and upgrades. The Ghostbusters Pack is playable every Wednesday and Saturday only, so better make a date with Venkman and Slimer on those days.
The Monster Dash update is rolling out for Android devices, but if you don’t have the game yet, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store. There are in-app updates available so better be careful with your purchase settings if you don’t want your credit card bill to haunt you.
