You would think you don’t need an elaborate backstory to play a game that involves rolling a ball throughout a town and getting it through puzzles and challenges. But in Aurora: Quarantine, a new game available on Android, you actually do get both the complicated story and the simple (and yet not simple) gameplay. Probably inspired by such classic rolling games like Marble Madness and Metroid Prime, this new game will frustrate and challenge you in a whole other way.

Your mission is to roll through a town that has recently been almost eradicated by a weapon of mass destruction. All the inhabitants are dead and everyone that tries to enter the area dies from the toxic nanoparticles. There is still further backstory involving a rebel group who stole and modified that weapon to fight against the security institution The S.I.G.H.T who protects the rich and leaves the poor to fend for themselves.

But that’s not what’s really important in this game. The object is to send in a robot which actually looks like a shiny marble and get the substance that will neutralize the toxic substance. The problem is that substance is inside the laboratory in the city, so only a robot can go in and retrieve it, and only you will be able to control said robot. You control it by sliding and holding your finger on the screen, which sounds easy, but of course isn’t. You get to roll around in realistic environments filled with a lot of booby traps and unexpected surprises.

For a limited time only, you can buy Aurora: Quarantine from the Google Play Store for only $1.47, which is 30% cheaper than its actual price. So if you are intrigued and challenged by this game, take advantage of it while it’s still on sale.
