If you were a fan of the Fatal Fury fighting game series entitled Garou: Mark of the Wolves which was released back in 1999 on the Neo Geo gaming console, then you’ll be happy to know that the game is now making its way to mobile devices, albeit with a whole host of new characters, a brand new way of playing it, but with the familiar story and adventure that captivated gamers in the first place.
The game now has a new hero named Rock Howard who has also been trained by Terry Bogard, the “Legendary Wolf” and the only character from the original game that is carried over to the new one. Rock is the successor to Geese Howard and now it’s up to him to continue the adventure in this fully redesigned game. There are new characters who have their own backstories, goals, and abilities. For old (err, and we mean those who’ve previously played the game) gamers, these new cast have connections to characters from the previous installments, so this might be a nostalgic trip down memory lane as well.
As for the redesigned gameplay, you’ll now be able to use the T.O.P system that is supposedly a “revolutionary game mechanic” that will let you have access to your character’s hitting power and can be activated from anywhere on his lifebar. You also get “Just Defense” bonus points when you block your enemy’s attacks at the last moment. And if you’re not satisfied with the move you’ve applied, you can even cancel them out and replace it with different ones. You can choose from several modes, including the Practice one where you can, well, practice all your moves before unleashing it on the virtual world. You can also do Survival Mode where you fight all you can, just until your life bar gets to zero.
