The popular Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is on sale over at Best Buy today, but that isn’t the only thing special about this deal. Not only do you get an awesome Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet, surely to be updated to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon, but they are tossing in the $79 dollar Samsung keyboard dock absolutely free.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features an impressive 1280 x 800 resolution IPS display, dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and comes with front and rear facing cameras. Powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor you’ll be speeding through THD games and enjoying HD video. The free keyboard dock has quick shortcuts for apps, games, browser and more and is a great addition to your tablet — especially for free.
The tablet currently runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb but just a few weeks ago Samsung confirmed that the 8.9 tablet would be seeing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich “soon” along with the other tablets and the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi model usually runs $399 but can be yours for only $349 from Best Buy along with the free keyboard dock and even free shipping. This deal appears to be online only but I’d run down to my nearest Best Buy and give it a try too.

Really? AMOLED display? might want to correct that
…but it has Tegra II chip in it. 🙁 If this thing had Exynos I’d jump on it in a heartbeat. Tegra 2 may play HD video, but it should have an asterisk next to it.
Plays THD games too 😉
The asterisk comment was because it will not play high profile HD video. My ancient (original) Samsung Galaxy Tab played high profile HD video without a problem. It’s personal preference in how I rip my BD movies.
Your picture is not of the GTab 8.9. I am sitting here looking at mine and the tablet fits into the keyboard dock in landscape, not portrait mode as shown in the image.
Yes the 8.9 dock is landscape
65 GB internal storage? I wish that were true….
My Best Buy brick and mortar store matched the deal on site. They were very nice about it.
You are lucky. I tried but they didn’t even have the dock at my location. In fact the 8.9 was out of stock at quite a few NY locations. I bought the tab anyway and i like it. I would like it even more if it was running ICS.
This is precisely why I now have this particular model and dock- and it’s much easier than lugging around a heavy laptop computer.
The tablet was in-stock when I bought it, but I had to wait 5 days for the dock. Some locations were sold out, however.
I couldn’t get the free dock either but the rep was terrific, give me a voucher for the disappointment. I was finally able to get a keyboard and case from Amazon that fits perfectly.
Love the tab – this is a whole new experience for me.
Nifty. Maybe i could use this as a sort of easel (i’m a graphic designer). I wonder if there are any products that will increase cell reception. Not that i need it, AT&T’s 4G LTE is incredible here in NY.
