We have been talking about some of the rumors surrounding the coming Samsung smartphone with the curved LCD that wraps around the edges of the device. So far, the device has been called the Galaxy S6 Edge. This is the device was saw in AnTuTu benchmarks earlier this month. A new report has surfaced that suggest the name we have been using for the new curved screen smartphone is wrong.
According to the report, the device will instead be called the Galaxy S Dual Edge. The tip comes from unnamed industry sources and those sources also claim that the Galaxy S Dual Edge will be narrower and less curved than the Galaxy Note Edge.
If the edges are actually less curved than expected it might make the usability of the curved screen less than we hoped. The screen is expected to be around 5.1-inches wide. The source claims that the assumption is that since the Galaxy S Dual Edge is smaller than the Note Edge it was difficult to enlarge the dual-edge screen.
The source also claims that there will be no message alarm or information storage functions due to the narrow screen. If the device doesn’t offer notifications on the curved edges of the screen, the only thing the curved edges will be good for is style.

If this is true then it will be a disapointment, I was looking forward to the notification bar.
