If you want to buy a new Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge smartphone, you may also want an extended warranty to cover the device in the event of breakage. Few things can ruin your day more than dropping your expensive smartphone and cracking the screen.

Samsung has rolled out its official Protection Plus Mobile Elite plans for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and with the Edge being a more expensive device, its care plan costs more. The S6 can get on the Protection Plus plan for $99.

The S6 Edge on the other hand will cost you $129 for the Protection Plus. Other than the price difference, the plans appear to be the same. What you get for your money is a two year extended warranty from the date of purchase.

The warranty does cover cracked displays or liquid damage and goes into effect after the 1 year limited warranty expires. Each incident does cost you $95 and you can get the device repaired for up to three incidents of accidental damage. If you break the device more than three times, you are on your own to repair or replace the smartphone.
